The ISO/TC 307 plenary in Sydney concluded last week and it was fascinating to actually meet the people driving the blockchain ISO standards.
“ISO/TC 307: Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies” are sets of standard created by international contributors with knowledge in this field. It is driven by Standards Australia (called the Secretariat) where Ms Amy Howie is the committee manager and Dr Scott Farrell is the Chair.
12 ISO blockchain standards have been published which can be see here.
10 are currently under development here.
There are 13 working groups that anyone can join and contribute to.
Perhaps the trickiest part is becoming familiar with the lingo. TC, SC, AHG, NP, NSB etc. This is where the glossary is a life saver!
It was also great to catch up with Marc who also represents NZ as a delegate.
For anyone interested in contributing or learning more, please feel free to reach out or contact your local NSB (National Standards Body) 🙂
